When your community needs help, the last thing you want to feel is powerless. That’s why the Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) Division has launched Friend of FAMLI, a new, free certification training program designed to equip you with the skills needed to support Coloradans filing FAMLI claims.
Who Are Friends of FAMLI?
Friends of FAMLI are trusted, community-based professionals trained to be go-to guides for the FAMLI program. From answering questions to helping navigate the My FAMLI+ portal, Friends make it easier for their communities to access paid leave for the care they need, when they need it most.
What Does Training Cover?
Friends of FAMLI gain insight into:
- FAMLI program basics: eligibility criteria, qualifying reasons for leave, and leave types
- My FAMLI+: how to easily navigate the claims portal, and help others file their claims.
- FAMLI resources: toolkits, guides, and how-to’s that build community understanding and resilience.

Becoming a Friend of FAMLI is simple:
- complete our online application.
- attend a free, two-hour instructor-led training session.
- pass the knowledge check after the training session.
Training sessions will be held every two weeks on Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, starting May 21, 2025. Submit your application to have your instructor-led training scheduled as soon as possible!
