Regulatory Update: Benefits Rules Adopted

7 CCR 1107-3 Benefits and Employer Participation Requirements have been adopted and will have an effective date of October 15, 2022. With the benefits rules now adopted, we anticipate filing our proposed private plan rules very soon.

The FAMLI Division is committed to developing and implementing rules that will govern the processes and procedures surrounding approved private plans. We’ve created the following guidance to support employers who may be considering a private plan exemption ahead of the private plan rules being adopted.

FAMLI Summer Update: July 2022

Now that we are halfway through 2022 and fast-approaching the start of FAMLI premium deductions on January 1, 2023, the Division is sharing a high-level status report of its progress in building a FAMLI program that serves both Colorado employers and workers alike. This State of the State summary includes the latest on the Division’s hiring efforts, the technological buildout of the online premium portal, important dates and timelines regarding the proposed benefits rules and forthcoming private plan rules, and an overview of our public outreach and communication efforts.
